Christmas 2013 style

Christmas morning was full of excitement and joy.  Samuel and Ruth jumped right in like they were old pros and for the most part, they understood that some presents were for them and some for the other people in the family.  It was a wonderful day.

And of course, the funnest thing of all was jumping into the pile of wrapping paper.

We met my family on New Year's Eve and rode the carousel.  Samuel didn't really like the up and down motion, but he loved riding on the stationary horse (there's only one) or the saucer.  And he wanted to go again and again and again and again.
Every year my mother insists on doing a white elephant game with her grandchildren.  I'm not sure any of the kids understand the game or why they play it.  But we indulge her and then try to console the children that are upset because they opened a package of hand soap!
Our two oldest children received bb guns and were able to join in a shoot out with their cousins who also have bb guns.  Super cute watching these guys learn how to use a gun.
