The Beach

Well, it's nothing compared to the white sand and crystal blue waters of the beaches in Australia.  But hey, we aren't in Australia, so this has to do.  And on a hot day, playing in any water beats sitting around being bored in the heat.  A fabulous morning of fun.

And because I took an hour this afternoon to catch up on bills, emails, etc., I now have children telling me that they are bored.  Summer is fun, but I'm getting burnt out trying to keep them occupied.  I don't want children coming to me every five minutes telling me that they are bored, but I do need some time to get MY responsibilities taken care of.  (Yes, keeping my blog updated is one of my responsibilities.)  Just for the record, this is the first time all summer that any of the children has mentioned being bored and it was only June because she wanted a turn on the computer when I was having my turn on the computer!!!!!

  1. I learned not to say I was bored...Mom would likely give me a job!

  2. Yes - if they're bored they're obviously not working hard enough - give them a chore to do, haha. :)

  3. I LOVE your idea of the beach :)And your kids are just super cute.

PS- Have you heard of a bored jar? It's a teacher idea, but would work at home too. Take a mason jar and have the kids come up with a bunch of fun activities (or you can come up with them) that they can do without your help. Write the activities some craft popsicle sticks and put them in your jar. That way if they're bored you can just tell them to pick something. Plus it's fun for them to be surprised with whatever they pick. My teacher friend uses it for kids who finish thier silent work early :) Just a thought.
