Our Fourth Celebration

I am so thankful that my parents came up to celebrate the Fourth of July with us.  The children love having grandparents come and stay the night with us.  We started our day on the river.....
We went early to beat the heat and the crowds.  It was a perfect float.
We made it back to town to catch the end of the parade.  Also perfect.  The children received enough candy and treats to make them happy and we didn't have to be in the heat too long.  We surprised the children and took them to the movie theatre to see "Brave".  That's the first time we have gone to the theatre with our entire family!!!!  The children did great and the movie was really good.
We had a picnic and then lit our own fireworks and ate ice-cream while we waited for it to get late and dark!
We headed up to the hill to watch the city fireworks, which were great.
And we could see the grass fire burning right next the big G across town.  The fire was started by a firework, of course.  People are crazy here with their fireworks.  I'm pretty sure that we are going to lose our house to a firework set off by our neighbors one of these years.
The next day Chris and Papa (Chris) Christensen had a jam session on their guitars.
And we found this huge long slide at one of our favorite parks.  I say "found" because it is way in the back of the park and even though we visit the park frequently, we had never seen this slide before.  Grammy even went down.  It looked like so much fun she couldn't resist!!!
