The first few days home have been fun filled as we explore new adventures all together. Playing and sharing toys, eating pancakes, playing play dough, going to the park, visiting the beehives, climbing mountains, having a picnic, eating meatloaf and not wanting to stop!!!! Samuel has started calling us momma and dada. He actually talks a ton. Unfortunately, it's all in TWI and we don't understand. But we either nod our head and smile or try to stay calm and say "No please". Ruth is a super happy little girl (except at church). She jabbers and sings all day. She loves to hang upside down and has a sweet laugh. Samuel is learning a little more every day that the kids want to be his friend and play with him, not just beat him up and take his toy. He loves being chased around the house by the big kids.
Yesterday was their first doctor's visit. Four shots each and four vials of blood each. Two poopy diapers to the lab. And the results: lots of little parasites in their bodies. Now they are both on multiple antibiotics. The funny part was when the City County Health Department called and said that the parasites have to be registered. So now we are on some sort of black list or something. The nurse asked me when the symptoms (diarrhea) started and what food they had eaten. I kind of chuckled and just had to say "Sometime in Africa when they were eating African food".
I love Carmen Lay!
