Eliza participated in the Missoula Children's Theatre school play at Lincoln Elementary this week. She played the part of Slinky Sidewinder and put in long hours of practice after school. She would come home every evening, exhausted, but so wound up that she couldn't go to sleep. It was an intense schedule and I think I was more exhausted than she. It is really hard work having your daughter gone all week. All that worry that she's not eating healthy food and not getting enough sleep and not having any play time.....it really wears a momma out. The play wasn't the only thing happening this week. We all had our dentist appointment on Monday. (No cavities, woot! woot!) Monday evening we enjoyed a wonderful good-bye BBQ for our friends, the Mathsons, that ended up being a ward party! The van had to be taken to the shop on Tuesday to get the rack replaced. Wednesday we had our last playdate with our friends and ended up having all the neighborhood kids over. That evening, Henry had his first Tball practice. Thursday I worked hard to clean the house and sew patches on six pairs of pants and make a good healthly dinner to take to Eliza in between practice sessions. I squeezed in a hair cut for Henry because his "bangs" were past his eyebrows!
And because I was so tired, after cutting Henry's hair, I forgot to put the scissors away. Only to find that right before bed, June cut her hair in the back. Luckily, the top part of her hair was pulled up in a braid. She will be wearing her hair down and pulled back to the right of her head for a while. Her top hair covers it up so you can't even notice.
All of these things would have been taken stride if Russ had been home to help balance out my craziness. However, he had commitments every night this week and it was typical to pass him in the garage as I was loading up children for the next activity and he was coming home to grab a bite to eat or to change into his suit for his church meetings.
The play Friday evening was wonderful and Eliza did a fabulous job. We celebrated with ice-cream at DQ with several other children who participated in the play and their families. Saturday I didn't have anything on the To Do List and so.....................I didn't do anything. Well, until 12:30 when I ventured to Walmart.
That's when you know you have hit the insanity level.................................Walmart on Saturday!!! You must be insane!!!!!
You're posting! I love it! I'm so excited to be able to better keep up with y'alls day to day. Can't believe Eliza just had her baptism. Can it really be? 8? We were just holding her in the hospital. She is such a beautiful girl.
