My bubble has been popped!

For several weeks my heart has felt heavy. I am aching for the children in Uganda. I live in a tiny bubble where everything is perfect. Seriously! I have a perfect life. That is not to say that I am perfect, but my bubble is. I have a wonderful husband that works hard and provides for our family. I have four adorable children that are really good kids. And cute and fun and sweet and loving and I could keep going forever. I have a small business running a preschool and teaching children is truly a joy. I have a nice home. I have more than enough yummy food to keep my belly full. And most importantly, I have the gospel of Jesus Christ in my life.

But across the world, there are millions of children who have none of those things. And they are suffering. And the more I read and listen too, the more my heart aches for them. And so I wonder, what do I do about it?

You may or may not have heard about Joseph Kony. Wacth this video to find out more, but do some research before you act on anything.

Now you need to watch this video from the prime minister of Uganda.

So they say Joseph Kony isn't in Uganda anymore. But that doesn't mean that the country is no longer suffering. That is far from true. The country will suffer for generations from what this man has done. But that is not the only cause of their suffering. I came across a website last week that was really disturbing to me. Children are being sent to "prison" for reasons as small as "she didn't cook me dinner". These children are not criminals. In situations where we would choose to have a child sit in time out or possibly get a spanking, the Ugandan children are being sent to compounds where they are treated worse than any criminal. Go to this website to learn more from the organization Sixty Feet.

And so I ask again, now that my bubble has been popped and I realize that life isn't perfect, in fact it is outright unbearable for some, what do I do? I am going to adopt and give a child (hopefully two) a really good home. But what about their country? What about the others that will be left with nothing..........noone?
