It's about time!!!!

Now that many of the people in the world are moving on to bigger and better and more advanced things in technology, I have finally decided to start a blog. This is a huge step for someone who still doesn't own a cell phone and therefore, can't operate one! It's true, I'm usually the last one to jump on board! But for a couple of weeks now, I have felt impressed to create a blog. I want to share our families adventures with my friends, especially now. Our journey of adoption is just beginning, although we've been working on it for a some time now. Four years ago, Russ received an impression while listening to one of our church leaders share his feelings about adoption. The Spirit touched Russ's heart and left him feeling like adoption from Africa was something our family should pursue. When Russ shared his feelings with me, I thought it was a nice thing, but not right for us at the time. Our littlest was only 4 or 5 months old and I was in no mind to think about adding more children to the family. A year or so later we were blessed with another child, but the pregnancy had been really hard for me. After many months of praying and fasting and seeking for the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we knew with out a doubt that we would adopt from Africa. It has taken us a year to get all of the official paper work gathered, signed and notarized by the right people. We have one document left to receive back from the United States Customs and Immigrations office. Then, it will all be sent to Uganda and we will wait for a referral. The mixed emotions that we have been feeling can not be described. We know this is the Lord's will for us and we invite you to join us on our journey and grand adventure. There will be many bumps along the way, so hold on tight. And in the end, there will be peace and joy!!!
