Fundraiser report

Is there any wonder why I love the changing of the seasons?  I find such beauty in our Heavenly Father's creations.  The flowers in my front bed are gorgeous this year.  And I have been loving the cool temperatures with a hint of sunshine promising to bring ridiculously hot days in the summer.  About three years ago, yes, three wonderful summers ago when I was pregnant with Chris, I made a goal for myself not to complain about the heat.  If you know me at all, you know that I hate being overly hot and sweaty and feeling sticky and I would take a day of snow over a 100 degree day anytime.  However, I am not in charge of the weather and there has to be warmth for things to grow and I love when things grow.  So, I now choose (or at least try) not to complain about the heat.  And it's Montana for goodness sake.........it's not that hot too many days out of the year!  My point being.....the weather has been perfect this week!
We have little purple pansies touched with yellow gold growing in one corner of our garden old.
Last weekend was our first fundraiser.  It forecasted rain and snow, but we went ahead and had our garage sale and bake sale.  I put everything away in the house that we didn't want to sell.  I couldn't move the couch to a different room so I put a for sale sign on it, but we were all relieved that it didn't sell.  We felt that the fundraiser was a huge success.  We didn't know what to expect.  It was Memorial Weekend, rainy and snowy!!!  Russ put a big blue tarp over the driveway and I set up tables in the living room, dining room, and basement.  People showed up on Friday at noon and we weren't suppose to start until 2pm.  It was a crazy, hectic, mad dash to get stuff out, but with help from friends, we did it.  And the people kept coming and they came on Saturday in the rain.  It was amazing to Russ and I.  By the end of Saturday, we were exhausted but feeling very blessed.  And during all of the craziness, June's helpful big brother, Henry, took off her training wheels and taught her how to ride her bike without them.  Now she is cruising all over the place and absolutely loving it.  She feels big and that's important when you are the third child!
Our house is back to (almost) order.  I should have taken a picture of the indoor garage sale that took up so much more room than just our little garage.  But I didn't.  So, here's a picture of how I like my house to look.  We still have boxes full of stuff that we are going to try and sell at a neighborhood garage sale in a couple of weeks.  It won't be advertised as a fundraiser, but the money raised will be for our adoption.  We want to thank everyone who helped us with our fundraiser.  There were many who donated items to sell, brought baked goods for the bake sale, helped us set up, brought us meals, took care of the children, and donated money.  Thank you for your help and support.  We love you.
